  • Espresso and caching server project in Salford Primary Schools An LEA project to equip all Salford primary schools with Equiinet web caching servers providing access to the Espresso service is currently nearing completion. By January 2006, all schools will have had their equipment installed and will have been trained in the uses of Espresso in the primary curriculum.
  • Kar2ouche software now available to all Salford schools The authority has been able to fund the provision of the award winning 'Kar2ouche' modelling software from Immersive Education. During the late autumn term, a copy of Kar2ouche Composer with network user licenses ( 15x primary 30x secondary) was sent to all Salford schools. Schools have been given information about the additional range of curriculum modules available to run with Kar2ouche. All Kar2ouche modules are ELC approved.

Welcome to the Salford Grid for Learning. This is an exciting development led by the Schools and Learning Development Division of Children's Services. We aim to provide easy access to relevant information as well as leading edge resources and e-learning content directly for Salford schools and settings. We am sure that you will find this resource useful and as it develops, over time, we hope that it will become central to your efforts to impact positively upon the learning of children and young people. It also provides an excellent method by which educators can share best practice,  helping us all to contribute to improvements together.  In order to develop the site further we need your comments and feedback.
